The properties of the chocolate

Chocolate has always been since ancient times, the most popular food in the world for its unique taste and was always considered a ” sin of gluttony “. If it is eaten in the right doses, it becomes a food that gives the body the benefits. In this article, I write the properties of the chocolate and the benefits it gives to your body.

The main ingredients of chocolate are cocoa butter (which is obtained from cocoa beans) and other ingredients that are different, depending on the type of chocolate, which is prepared. There are several varieties, the most common are:

  • Dark chocolate
  • White chocolate
  • Milk chocolate

The dark chocolate is obtained with the cocoa butter with cocoa paste. With the vanilla and sugar, milk chocolate is obtained using the ingredients of the dark, but we must add the milk, and white chocolate is obtained as milk chocolate, but it should be eliminated cocoa paste.

Until now, the chocolate is designed to check what are the benefits that brings to our organization. Below I write, its main properties:

  • Chocolate contains and is rich in ” flavonoids “, which are powerful antioxidants, fights free radicals, which are responsible for skin aging and reduce cardiovascular disorders, thus reduce the risk of heart attack. Furthermore, flavonoids are anti-inflammatory and contradict the bad cholesterol. Some recent studies have found that the antioxidant effect is inhibited by the milk, then this property is absent in milk chocolate.
  • Has antidepressant properties, because it stimulates the production of neurotransmitters, namely serotonin. Then also produces caffeine, which gives a alcanoide antidepressant action and psychoactive, stimulating the entire nervous system. Caffeine is transformed (so to speak) in ” theobromine ” which increases the flow of oxygen of our nervous system, making to thus increases our ability of attention and concentration.
  • Furthermore also contains mineral salts, potassium, iron, vitamins, phosphorus and magnesium, which then make it a food against stress and fatigue. Remember that chocolate should be eaten in the right quantities, do not abuse it, otherwise it hurts.
